Human rights work is successful!

We are very pleased to announce that after many years of public relations work by Verein Welle and great international pressure on the Iranian regime, Atena Daemi, a courageous imprisoned civil rights activist who was subjected to severe pressure in prison for many years, has been released from prison.
Atena Daemi is an Iranian child rights and human rights activist. She was arrested in 2016 and sentenced to several years in prison. Among the activities she was accused of were distributing leaflets against the death penalty and posting on Facebook and Twitter criticizing executions in Iran.
On Atena's release, we congratulate her parents, her sisters, all those who campaigned for her release, and all human rights activists in Iran.
