This month, Verein Welle continues its life-saving campaign with an appeal to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Secretary General, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, as well as the UN Commission of Inquiry and other international institutions. The appeal expressed concern at the increasing number of arbitrary executions and disappearances in Iran and called on these institutions to take urgent action to stop the executions and serious human rights violations.
 
The Voice of the Iranian People in Switzerland
Last month, more than 10 human rights actions took place in Switzerland. During these actions and numerous exhibitions, participants strongly condemned the human rights violations and executions in Iran. They demanded the intervention of the United Nations and an immediate halt to the executions. Some of the participants in the actions, victims of this regime themselves, sought to make the voice of the Iranian people and the demands of the ongoing nationwide protests heard by people in Switzerland and around the world by disclosing their stories.
It is important that film reports of these human rights actions and exhibitions are transmitted to Iran via an independent satellite TV station used by Welle. This gives hope and strength to the people of Iran.
